Maxim skylights meet or exceed the strictest Miami-Dade County HVHZ codes
This symbol represents adherence to performance standards of the highest level. Maxim offers a complete line of standard and custom skylights that not only meet Miami-Dade County Product Approval, but also include the highest level of impact, wind and pressure resistance of the 150 mph wind zone which is also known as the High Velocity Hurricane Zone or HVHZ.
In 2001 the State of Florida adopted a statewide code similar to Miami-Dade County. Approval by The Florida Building Code (FBC) also represents adherence to performance standards of the highest level. Maxim offers a complete line of standard and custom skylights that meet Florida Building Code product approval, and includes the same extreme levels of impact, wind and pressure resistance as Miami-Dade County approved products including approval for use in the HVHZ.
Maxim hurricane skylights comply with Texas coastal building code
The State of Texas responded to Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita by updating building codes along the Texas Gulf Coast and created The Designated Catastrophe Area of the Texas Gulf Coast. These stringent performance requirements, governed by The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), are similar to the Miami-Dade County and Florida Building Code (FBC) performance standards. Maxim offers a complete line of standard and custom skylights that meet TDI approval and includes the same extreme levels of impact, wind and pressure resistance as Miami-Dade County and Florida Building Code approved products including IMPACT APPROVAL for use in the 130 mph Seaward zone, the 120 mph Inland I zone and the 110 mph Inland II zone.
